Cabin B721 Brittania

Must be something about this cabin. Whenever we have done the early booking and cabin is allocated later it always seems to give us this one. We have always changed it on a select fare as we prefer a port side cabin

The answer to your question is no.

However, we had C731 on our last Britannia cruise, same grade, directly below. Next month we are in C730, because we wanted a port side cabin.

Was there a reason for the question?

Why is it not a good cabin you didn't mention it?

It's a good location, you don't need to look at all the cabin numbers on your way down the corridor; it's the end one!

There's virtually no passing traffic, so it's a quiet location.

The aft stairs and lifts are really close by which is useful, and they don't appear to be as well used as the more forward locations.

We live in a bungalow and we enjoy using the stairs, it's a bit of a novelty for us.

Wherever you are cruising, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. We are going to the Med for a couple of weeks next month, Britannia is our favourite (well, we've only tried Oceana and Ventura once  each, so 2 cruises on Britannia must make it the winner).

We had major problems with an aft corner wrap suite on F deck on Britannia, but two of the four problems that we had wouldn’t be experienced in B721 (noise from the Live Lounge two decks below us and plumbing noises from a plant room which was unbelievably sited inside the suite). The third issue (excessive vibration when the ship was at sea and associated rattles in the cabin) is likely to be far less of a problem 4 decks further up the ship. You may not even feel it at all. There is a chance that you might experience the fourth problem, soot on the balcony, but this does depend on atmospheric conditions and is far less likely in hot and dry climates. On the basis that you are doing a Caribbean cruise your chances of it not being a major issue are pretty good I would think.

Hi Selborne

Thank you fit the feed back, much appreciated. Sounds like that suite is to be avoided. These forums are brilliant, hopefully I will be able to contribute something on my return.

Last month we had cabin F721 for our 1st cruise.  So probably similar to B721

Nothing negative to report, we really enjoyed the cabin

I think someone has done a YouTube review/video of F721.

Hope you enjoy your cruise

  • 1 month later...

Just back from 2 weeks in the Med, and one thing we forgot when we decided on the port side cabin; smoking areas are at that side. On B deck you are one level closer to the smokers at the back of the Horizon restaurant, it wasn't often intrusive but was more noticeable when the ship was berthed, and the wind direction also made a difference.

There was no vibration or noises from adjacent cabins (apart from one time the couple in the suite next door couldn't wait to get in bed and had a rather noisy session on their balcony!) so it was really peaceful. On sea days we generally read on the balcony, we're not into sunbathing at all. The library has a good selection of books and a shelf for swapping if you want.

Being on the port side generally gives a better view of the area surrounding the port, we had a port side cabin on Oceana and so I booked the opposite one to our previous Britannia trip (that was to Norway so the views were good from both sides of the ship).
