Passau to Linz w/ Avalon

Our Avalon Legendary Danube cruise has a morning in Passau and then sails to Linz in the afternoon. That is the day that optional excursions to Salzburg and Cesky Krumlov are offered. I would appreciate input from those who did NOT choose to book the optional tours.  Thanks!

Passau is full of history, plenty to do and see on your half day there (don't forget to see the Cathedral). Normally there will be a walking tour included.

We stayed on board on our Avalon cruise because we had already been to Salzburg and Cesky Krumlov day seemed like a lot of time on the bus. There was an included walking tour of Passau in the morning and then a relaxing sail to Linz. We did walk around in Linz after arrival and it was pleasant.

Thanks- the idea of a mid-day sail from Passau to Linz sounds like a great break from busy days touring and a chance to see the Danube in daylight!
