Wise words!  I think I could beat the house on maybe 2 or 3 nights of a 7 night cruise, but not every night.

I would also miss out on some of the more interesting bottles of wine on the wine list.

I am inclined to think that to be certain you will “beat the house” with the drinks program means either you are a regular heavy (read “problem”) drinker or you will simply have to spend a fair amount of concentrating to sufficiently “up your game” on your cruise.

I think Jack Dawson nailed it.

Well, let's do some counting on our fingers. Someone may drink more on a cruise, but that doesn't mean they're a problem drinker (although it might help 🙂).

Bloody Mary at breakfast

G&T at 10:00 AM trivia in the Golden Lion

A draft beer at lunch. Maybe two.

One drink by the pool

Pre-dinner drink in the Chart Room.

Two glasses of wine with dinner

A drink during the show (why do you think they have the little tables?)

Social drinks with friends in the Commodore Club

That's ten. What's the average price, $8? $9?

Would someone do it every day? I don't know.

On some lines there's a lot of discussion of the fact that they cut you off at 14.

Whilst I could do that for one or two days, there is no way me (or my liver!) could manage that for an entire week!
