I think they are awful. CA cities like San Francisco and San Diego are not the place for them. They are not comfortable (very low), you eat exhaust the whole time (crowded city streets), and they are dangerous in my estimation because they are too low slung for city streets.

They frown on everything.  The only bridge worth taking one on would be the Bay bridge out to Treasure Island for the view of the city.  Golden Gate's been just to windy most times and really nothing to see on the other side.  Personally, I don't think I would do one in SF.  But, Monterey I would do if the weather was not raining.
