SAmome Posted May 28, 2019 #1 Share Posted May 28, 2019 I know it was unexpected and wondered if it turned out ok in the end? Were they "fair" with the cabanas in that those that had reserved first got to keep them and they cancelled only where overbooked? Or canceled all cabanas and had to repurchase at a higher price? Shacky316 Posted May 28, 2019 #2 Share Posted May 28, 2019 We were on Navigator and had our Chill Island cabana cancelled a couple of days before. We did complain on board with Excursions and were told that it was based on when purchased and the best they can do was to be placed on a waiting list. On my way back from a late casino visit Friday night, a cabana ticket was in my 'mailbox'. Therefore, we ended up with a cabana. As for the island in general with two ships, it was not that bad. There were still chairs to be had in different places during my walk arounds for the lagoon, zip line and balloon (which was grounded on Saturday). Oasis Lagoon was crowded around the 1-3pm area. The Thrill Waterpark did get sold out. Unfortunately, I think RCCL saw it was not that bad as well and will probably repeat the double ships. SAmome Posted May 28, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted May 28, 2019 Thanks for the feedback. I was sure on Symphony they'd be offering some sales to book up excursions boarding day, but it didn't look like many were using cabanas or the waterpark, but the jetski area seemed busy. It was probably an experiment on how much money they'd make with zero discounting of excursions. I asked a bar tender what the drink package was going for first day and she said 70/day. Almost all positives regarding my visit to Coco Cay. The slight negative I have no idea how to really solve so probably not worth mentioning. But, here goes. There were a fair amount of flies around the Chill Grill food.
blueridgemama Posted May 28, 2019 #4 Share Posted May 28, 2019 Unfortunately flies are everywhere when you dine outside. Short of screening in the island I don't think there is a solution😊

Word was it was due to a coast guard inspection and we did see them everywhere on-board.

Agree, but there is no outdoor restaurant that I have ever been to that did not have flies. kinda like being outside around flowers and not seeing bees.
