HAL Casino Line of Credit

Can anyone with experience tell me if the casino line of credit works like a regular marker in a land based casino?

We have marker privileges at Mandalay Bay in Vegas, and it was very easy to request fund with only a signature at the tables - no fees.  We simply paid off the marker at the end of the trip with a personal check from the bank used to verify the marker before we arrived (or we could have just let the casino deposit the marker-checks we signed at the time we received the funds).  The key here though is it didn't cost us anything in fees or interest.

Hoping to set up a line for our fall Eurodam cruise to avoid the need to carry a lot of cash, or pay withdrawal fees at the casino.

It is really hard to get information from OPC (Ocean Players Club), particularly since Michael Bayona is gone but what I do is:

An up front money wire transfer.  You complete the wire transfer before you sail.  Then on the first day you just do some paperwork at the cage, after which money is always immediately available at any table (don't know how they work that for slots, I only play blackjack) with no fees to your onboard account.  On the last night they remit to you what is left. Don't know if they do markers like land casinos but you might try OPC at 888-OPC-CLUB (672-2582).

Enjoy E'dam, she's a great ship.  Hope your ship's master is Captain John Scott.

Just to update -  I went through the process with Casino at Sea to apply for a line of credit, and was approved for my requested amount.  We were instructed to contact the Casino Host once on board to ensure everything was set.

It wasn't necessary at all.

According to the Head Cashier and Host, anyone can charge to their room up to $3k per day for no fees at all, so that's exactly what we did.  At the end of the cruise, we just applied our net winnings back to our account.  Very easy.

Line of credit using markers (identical process as land casinos) also works. Just fill out the application on line. Only hassle is that the Ocean Players Club is very hard to communicate with..they are slow to answer emails if you inquire as to the status of the application. You must fill out an application prior to every cruise and they often do not notify you of the approval until a few days before sailing. However once on board the marker process works smoothly and is identical to U.S. land casinos.
