cruiseguy1016 Posted June 24, 2019 #1 Share Posted June 24, 2019 We will be visiting Curacao and are considering renting a car to drive around and see the island. We will probably end up at a beach somewhere to spend a few hours relaxing. I have heard some good things about Cas Abou Beach. We'll want to have lunch on the island sometime during the day. I have heard they have a restaurant and bar there so that could be an option. Are there beach chairs available? Is there a cost? Any information you can provide would be a big help. Thanks. JerryUW Posted June 24, 2019 #2 Share Posted June 24, 2019 (edited) We did exactly what you are considering just last month. We rented a car and drove to Cas Abao. It was less expensive than using a taxi and the roads were easy to drive. Also, the freedom and flexibility of having the car was great. Cas Abao is beautiful. Entrance fee was $6-7 per car and chairs were $3 each I think. Chair fee includes a token for the rinse-off shower (take ticket to the snack bar). The restaurant is more of a snack bar but it was decent. A menu can be found in the photos on trip advisor. I feel like a commercial for Cas Abao as both my posts have been about Cas Abao ( longtime lurker), but we had a great time. EatonDoolittle Posted June 24, 2019 #3 Share Posted June 24, 2019 Agree that Cas Abo is lovely, and Porto Mari is along that same stretch of magnificent beach. With a rental car, you could hit them both up, and decide on your own favorite.
