PeetNL Posted June 24, 2019 #1 Share Posted June 24, 2019 Found this note in the cabin and I'm confused. If I buy a $ 11.00 alcoholic drink with my SBP, do I have to pay 15% service charge on top of it?
Rare VMax1700 Posted June 24, 2019 #2 Share Posted June 24, 2019 I think these T & C's relate to the standard SBP that a pax can puchase. The price quoted for the SBP is liable to 15% extra service charge, which is added to the total price of the SBP. As far as I am aware, if you receive a complimentary SBP then the service charge is included and nothing extra is added to your account. It also appears that different ships have different policy regarding the consumption of non alcoholic beverages.
crystalspin Posted June 25, 2019 #3 Share Posted June 25, 2019 The note is confusing! The gratuity for SBP is paid with the "purchase", whether by you or as a promotional. There should be unlimited non-alcoholic beverage plus 15 alcoholic, as Quench is unlimited and SBP is Quench+15 up to $11 alcoholic. If you think your non-alcoholic beverages are being counted against your 15, and it matters to you, take it to a supervisor.
twentyknots Posted June 25, 2019 #4 Share Posted June 25, 2019 We had a promotional SBP on Oosterdam in early June and used it for alcoholic drinks, water, and soft drinks. Many times the price of the wine by glass was $11 and our card covered the price plus whatever gratuity that may have been added. We were never given a receipt so don't know what if any was added. No beverages appeared on our cabin billing. The wine list varies from bar to bar and dining rooms, and apparently the bartenders have some discretion.. Chardonnay by the glass not exceeding $11 was very limited. In the Main Dining room the sommelier got us a good Chardonnay even though it wasn't listed by the glass. The SBC covered it.
