nast Posted June 26, 2019 #1 Share Posted June 26, 2019 Normally embarkation on most of the cruise lines is around 12 noon so you can have lunch on the ship. On documents for our Ponant cruise, embarkation time is between 4 and 5 pm. Is it really from 4pm ? What is your experience about this ? Rare 81Zoomie Posted June 27, 2019 #2 Share Posted June 27, 2019 We cruised in Antarctica which may be different than other locations since we flew in on a charter flight. After landing we were met by staff who took our luggage to the ship. Then we boarded busses for a lovely lunch at a resort hotel. After lunch, hikes, and free time we were taken to the ship. I think we arrived about 3 pm. Muster was shortly thereafter in the theater. We sailed 4:30 - 5 pm.
amespana Posted July 2, 2019 #3 Share Posted July 2, 2019 We boarded in Cayenne and yes, it was at 4 p.m. and happened at exactly that!
mediaprohi Posted July 7, 2019 #4 Share Posted July 7, 2019 Both me and my TA are scratching our heads over this one. Apparently 4 pm is the standard embark time AND they want you off the ship on the final day at 8 AM. Hmmm. Eight hours to clean 92 rooms and restock, with as many crew on board as guests? They have to leave room for the traditional French sport: the wildcat strike!
