amy16_ Posted July 3, 2019 #1 Share Posted July 3, 2019 We were given priority boarding due to some issues with last cruise. Does that get us early access to our cabin or do we wait until the normal 1:30?

teknoge3k Posted July 3, 2019 #3 Share Posted July 3, 2019 What jbethel11 said. Your room isn't ready just because of priority boarding. You wait until 1:30 like everyone else, unless you have FTTF. (or are d/p)
ALWAYS CRUZIN Posted July 3, 2019 #4 Share Posted July 3, 2019 Diamond and your room is ready. Ours is always.
amy16_ Posted July 3, 2019 Author #5 Share Posted July 3, 2019 Thanks all. I guess I should have asked “At what point do you get early access?”

I guess I should have asked “At what point do you get early access?” As it stands now, P/D/FTTF get early cabin access. Suite guests get priority boarding, but don't get early access. So there are instances when being "priority" doesn't also grant early access. Since your priority status comes from being compensated for a prior issue, it doesn't hurt to ask them about it, but chances are they'll tell you no. If they were to tell you yes, you'd need to make sure they add you to the list of priority cabins so your steward knows to prep your room earlier. teknoge3k Posted July 3, 2019 #7 Share Posted July 3, 2019 I literally just now hung up the phone from a Carnival upsell call for a suite. I took the suite, but kept the FTTF for the simple reason so my cabin will be ready when we embark.

We met a gentleman awhile back who had a list of all the cruises he & his lovely wife had been on. It was quite a lengthy list, and lots of great memories of cruising. 🛳🙂 He also loved karaoke! Seems most nights, he would sing "Margaritaville" by Jimmy Buffet. Such a nice man! Since that one cruise whenever we hear "his" song, we wonder if they're still cruising. 🤔 Kinda corny writing this here, we just never know the impression we can have with strangers ..aka fellow cruisers! 😁 🌻🌻 Bobbi
amy16_ Posted July 14, 2019 Author #9 Share Posted July 14, 2019 Just to let you know that we were priority but not diamond or platinum and was able to get in quickly and our room was ready as soon as we boarded.
chuckyb Posted July 14, 2019 #10 Share Posted July 14, 2019 We got off the Horizon yesterday and we are Platinum. The representative at the pier said that our rooms would be ready as soon as we got on the ship and our bags would be waiting for us. We boarded the Horizon at 11:30 and neither our rooms nor our bags were waiting for us. We then ended up going to the lido deck for lunch and back down to the room an hour later, where our sign and sail cards were waiting for us and 1 bag (this was about 12:30). The rest of the bags came later.
