Can someone please comment on the weather Alaska has been experiencing?  Sure makes me rethink what I'm going to pack.  For those doing a land tour - how has it been with the forest fires (breathing?  sights?).  Thanks.

Been in Eagle River for 3 weeks and has been hot. Should be cooling down. Smoke hasn't been too bad. depends on the winds and where you are are.

We were in Anchorage and Denali where it was hot, 91 in Anc on July 4. Denali was clear on July 5 & 6, with gorgeous views of Mt Denali, but by the 7th there was smoke and haze. We’re in Girdwood since yesterday, much cooler, around 65 for highs. Seward is similar.

 

We board the Millennium on Friday 12 and looks like rain and cool temperatures in all the ports. Fingers crossed it doesn’t rain too much...

My kids got back over the weekend.  They packed for rain and temps in the 60-70s.  Said that there was not a single day of rain and they had to re-wear warm weather clothes.  However, what happened last week may, or may not, continue for your trip.  Be prepared for all.
