bluecookies Posted July 15, 2019 #1 Share Posted July 15, 2019 We need to get from Seward to Anchorage. Our flight is not till 1:00AM so we would have plenty of time to explore if we rented a car in Seward and took our time. They are outrageously priced at $330 for a one-way. However, I've also heard they cap your daily mileage. Does anyone know if this is true?
verobay Posted July 15, 2019 #2 Share Posted July 15, 2019 I remember seeing a sign in there that said unlimited miles if you're one-way to Anchorage, but there's a limit if you return to Seward. Not sure what the local limit was.
bluecookies Posted July 15, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted July 15, 2019 (edited) That's helpful. I was wondering if that might be the case. I heard there was a 100 mile limit per day, but Google shows its 126 to Anchorage. Edited July 15, 2019 by bluecookies

CruiserBruce Posted July 15, 2019 #5 Share Posted July 15, 2019 Or do a test booking?
bluecookies Posted July 15, 2019 Author #6 Share Posted July 15, 2019 I ended up doing a mock booking. One-way has unlimited miles, local rental is capped at 100 miles per day with a 46 cent per mile fee after that.

B4 our trip, I explored as many possibilities as I could and calling them is almost more work than I could imagine. Not only was it hard to get someone to answer the phone but then actually getting good info was a challenge. The test booking worked best for me and I kept watching the prices and re-booked 3 times and saved nearly $300.
