I want to cruise Posted July 21, 2019 #1 Share Posted July 21, 2019 (edited) My 81 year old dad, who is in good health, wants to experience the caves. Can someone tell me if this sounds like an ok idea. Are there railings to hold onto and adequate lighting? There will be a group doing this with him so its not like he would be alone. We could get someone behind him and in front. Thanks for any feedback. Just dont want him to slip and fall. On a totally different subject he wants to search for sea glass, any hot spots for that besides Sea Glass Beach? Rare 1025cruise Posted July 21, 2019 #2 Share Posted July 21, 2019 Its been a few years, yes there is lighting, and I believe there were rails, but its a lot of steps. In terms of sea glass, remember that it is not permitted to remove it from the beaches.
njhorseman Posted July 21, 2019 #3 Share Posted July 21, 2019 It's over 80 steps, down, and then up again, for Crystal Cave. I wouldn't recommend it for most 80 year olds. As the previous poster stated you're not supposed to remove sea glass from beaches, and the cruise lines are supposed to confiscate it if they discover you trying to bring it aboard.
