Getting wine for Anthem cruise

We will be flying into EWR for our New England cruise September 26and will be staying at the Courtyard in Elizabeth. We are looking for suggestions as to where we can purchase wine to take onboard. If the cost for transportation is high we might as well buy it on the ship! Suggestions anyone?

Buying it in New Jersey will be far less expensive than buying it on the ship. There are almost too many liquor stores to list that have a large wine selection that are very close to you. Even with a $7-8 Uber each way to go get it, you'll still come out way ahead of the markup you get onboard. Also might be worth leaving a few minutes early for the port and having the driver wait for you while you pick something up.

There's a liquor store adjacent to the new Costco that is near the entrance to the peninsula where Cape Liberty cruise  port is located. http://bbbliquors.com/index1.php .

 

If you're traveling from your hotel to the port by taxi, car service or Uber/Lyft you can arrange for them to stop at the liquor store first. Of course your fare will be higher because of the stop with the car waiting for you.
