Redtravel Posted July 25, 2019 #27 Share Posted July 25, 2019 Dublin is a fabulous city with so much to do. Visit Trinity College. Book of Kells and library are not to be missed. If you like art museums, Dublin recently reopened its excellent art museum. Free admission except special exhibits. Do lunch or dinner in a pub. Visit a brewery(Guiness) is also fun. We went to Jamieson in Cork. They give an excellent tour. Have fun.
GeorgesGal Posted July 25, 2019 #28 Share Posted July 25, 2019 Could the late departure from Cobh be due to tides?

It's only a small amount over the cost of the Book of Kells tickets which might not be available at the time of your visit. For lunch I found The Church interesting. It was the Church where Guiness was married and now a very good restaurant in the old Church structure. Basically locals when I was there.

Maybe 3 km at most and a taxi would be very easy to pick up there, as Busaras is the main Dublin bus station with taxi rank outside. It's also on the Luas, which is the Dublin tram system and this is a direct line down to the Smithfield where the Guinesss Hop Store is. You could maybe take the Luas down there and them walk back up to Busaras along the banks of the Liffey (2 or 3 KM) all the way and get a favour of Dublin before boarding. Bon Voyage
