Wee Magoo Posted July 29, 2019 #1 Share Posted July 29, 2019 Can anyone help me with this - Can we bring a travel iron onto the Explorer 2 with us (God forbid if my Princess has any creases in her clothing)? Will we need an extension cable or are the plug points easily accessible in an inside cabin? Thanks in advance
Rare Brummijam Posted July 29, 2019 #2 Share Posted July 29, 2019 (edited) Hi Wee Magoo. Travel irons are a bit of a grey area As they are considered by some as a fire risk. I have just asked the question on the Marella website and this is the answer. 14) Can I take a travel iron on the ship? You may take a travel iron on the ship. However, if the device is determined to pose a hazard, it will be removed and returned on the last day of the cruise prior to disembarkation. The plug outlets are usually located on the desk and near the tea station for the kettle. Hope this helps.😉 Keep well. Rare 2BACRUISER Posted July 30, 2019 #3 Share Posted July 30, 2019 Note the sockets are EU/US so you will need an adaptor and if you have more than one thing to plug in at a time you will need a multi socket extender. There are UK sockets in the coffee port. hth

Wee Magoo Posted July 30, 2019 Author #5 Share Posted July 30, 2019 So are the multi socket extender/extensions ok to bring onboard? Brummijam - oh I don't know, could maybe set up a wee money making excerise there, what with the captive market already onboard the Explorer 2 😃😃😃
Rare 2BACRUISER Posted July 30, 2019 #6 Share Posted July 30, 2019 (edited) Just now, Wee Magoo said: So are the multi socket extender/extensions ok to bring onboard? Yes but pack in your hold luggage and try to get a short cord one. I did this with my curling tongs. Just an aside i never iron whilst away, i'm on holiday! Just pack clothes in material that creases shake out of and pack carefully. Edited July 30, 2019 by 2BACRUISER

Its fine to take multi socket/extender. Joking aside you would think that the ship would have a laundromat, the older marella ships had them. keep well. SausPud Posted July 30, 2019 #8 Share Posted July 30, 2019 Or you can send the items off to be pressed. Premier Services for a Suite Cabin include a complimentary pressing service (up to 3 items per person, offered within the first 24 hours after embarkation) Not sure on the costs, but if the Princess needs the items pressed, then that's the price you pay.

Blondie008 Posted August 2, 2019 #11 Share Posted August 2, 2019 Travel Irons and cruising??? OMG - just too scary!! Explorer 2 does have a laundry and pressing service right? Its cheap as chips - inside cabin or royal suite... just use the ship's laundry....
