How was the Italian restaurant? What did you order? How was spa? Did they run any "specials" port days, sea days?

We did the Italian restaurant for lunch on embarkment day.  We basically had the restaurant to ourselves.  There was 10 of us.  I had the lasagna and it was very good.  We did talk to some people who did a paid dinner and they said it was the best meal they had on the ship.

Several people in our group used the spa. They had massages and nails done.  They had great things to say about both. Very pleased.  They did say they tried to sell other products but you just have to said no.  They did have specials and our group was not afraid to ask for the best deal.

Thanks! We have dinner reservations at the Italian restaurant.  And I have a spa pass for the week and most always get the over priced spa massage. Lol.

Hi

Thanks for answering questions... What is "Hero and Villains Night"?

This was a plan that our group decided to do.  The first sea day we decided we were going to attend as a hero or villain.  We had a ball just leading up to this day.  We started gathering in the atrium around 4:45 coming in one at a time.  We received plenty of weird looks. Several people asked if this was a planned event for the ship.  The waiter and staff loved our plan.  Everyone was in character that night.

How was Jet Blue? Did you fly into PBI or FLL?

First time flying JetBlue.  Originally we were suppose to fly out of Richmond Va.  Five months before the cruise they cancelled our flight and wanted to charge us more to move to another location. Long story short after sending an email to the CEO they apologized and moved use for the same price.  We did have a delay but it was weather related.  We really loved flying JetBlue and I won’t hesitate to use them again.  Free WiFi, tv and snacks and drinks. We flew into FLL and it was easy to figure out were we were going.

Was there a band in Red Frog or just an acoustic player and were they any good?

We went to the Red Frog during embarkment day and had a half price fish bowl.  Great deal but a lot to drink.  I think they just had acoustic the other times I looked in.

Emailing the CEO? Wow, I don't want to know how you got a hold of him, LOL!

P.S. I totally want to know

The representative I spoke to on the phone was not going to budge.  I simply looked up his email the night after speaking to the representative and send the letter that night.  I didn’t think I would hear from him but the very next day his office called me and apologized several times.  They said that this should have been taken care of by the representative and that they would be doing some coaching on how to handle this the next time.  It was good to know that they do respond to their costumers.

How early did disembarking start? Any issue with not enough customs agents?

We were docked early and two people in our group needed off early.  They were able to get off the ship by 7:45.  After they got off there was a problem with customs and it delayed the next group.  If you are trying to get off early to catch an early flight they are very efficient and you should not have a problem.

How early did you guys arrive to the port in order to board by 10:30?  I know having the platinum members helped with boarding first, but just curious on what time you arrived.

Our shuttle picked us up at 10:00 and we were at the port by 10:10.   Being platinum we immediately went to check in and was in the waiting room quickly.  They called for us to board between 10:30-10:35.  Our friends who went through the regular lines and boarded around 11.  They had the 12-12:30 boarding time. This was by far the most efficient port we have been to.

We are staying at HIE, 17th St in February.  Was everything OK there?

It is very convenient to any last minute shopping that you need to do.  Our room was good but we were in the new section. The old section had a very bad smell to it.  The breakfast was ok.  If you need the shuttle I would call ahead and pre arrange it.  We did this for ten o’clock and it worked very smoothly.  We also used the same shuttle after the cruise to delivery us to the airport.  I would use this hotel again.

I am staying at this hotel before my next cruise. Was the shuttle to the cruise port included or extra? Also, we need a shuttle from the airport to the hotel. I read that was included. Did you experience this? Thanks.

Hello and Good Afternoon

My Husband and I are doing this exact ship and itinerary in September. Was the Pig & Anchor open on Embarkation Day? If so, how long were the lines? I know it's only open on Sea Days so how long were the lines on those days? Did the Ship make it to Half Moon Cay?

Thank you in advance!!

We have been on Magic several times.  The Pig & Anchor is open on embarkation day. It has never been crowded any time we went there on embarkation day. On sea days, both lines are always very long when it is open

Thank you for your response about jetblue.  I received a notice about  the airport being under construction in FLL  They said they may have delays or even a cancellation.. Makes me very nervous although we are flyiing out the day before very early.  did you notice any delays at the FLL airport that were due to construction?

Just note the Italian restaurant is directly underneath the basketball court.  It was JARRING to get through lunch with an intense basketball game going on.  Almost unbearable.  Just beware....

We found waiting an hour after opening solved the line problem.  The line was LONG at opening and non-existent after an hour or so.  I was skeptical about BBQ at sea, but they really put out a great product.
