Tour(s) before attending Military Tattoo in Edeinburgh?

We will be attending the Military Tattoo in August  and would like  to do some touring

before the performance. What have any of you done and do you have any companies

you would recommend? We dock in Glasgow. Greenock and stay overnight. The ship only

offers excursions straight to the performance and back to the ship.

Have you checked your roll call to see if someone has already started a tour group? If not, look at some of these: Exquisite Scotland, goscotland tours, Sláinte Scotland Tours.

Thank you for your suggestion. We are active on our Roll Call and they

do not have an opening for 3. Your web sites help.

We are just concerned about getting back to the ship in time for its 2:00 am departure.

We just did this a couple of weeks ago with Exquisite Scotland. We had Kay for this tour but he has someone else who helps with additional tours named George.  Both were really good. We left the ship at 8:30 AM, toured Greenock and surrounding areas then went to Edinburgh for the first show, I believe 7:30 pm. Had a little trouble meeting up with Kay, only because it was raining and very crowded. Got back to the ship about 12-12:30. We were on Crown Princess and the buffet was open when we got back because a lot of people go to the Tattoo.
