Offers like this cut into the real loyalty benefits and they have no loyalty.  They only go to the cruiselines that give the best deals while those of us who are loyal to Carnival hardly ever get an offer like this.  Oh I forgot we get a Lanyard for being Platinum or Diamond!!!  What's wrong with this picture??

If you start spending several hours every day gambling in the casino on your upcoming cruises, you will eventually get offers like the one the OP received.

I've found on the free cruise offers, if you pay to upgrade, then generally the days will count towards your VIFP program. If you just take the free room offered, it might not. So, we've gotten free inside offers, and pay $50 or so to upgrade to an outside, and get credit for all those days, because it becomes a 'paid' fare.

After over 40+ Carnival cruises I'd say I've spent enough to get an offer.   I buy excursions,  food, drinks, gamble, souvenirs , jewelry etc.

I certainly did lose some money in the casino during my cruise in June, but I didn't play expecting a bounce-back offer (which I'm taking in November) or the Elite cruise offer (which is really cool!). I just played in the casino because I enjoyed the dealers and the games. I would hope that people would be happy for me, but I understand the disappointment in the loyalty program offers.  

 

I'm so excited to have these extra vacations coming out of my last cruise. I enjoyed the June cruise so much, and these are such great bonuses. 🙂

40+ cruises!  WOW!  That's amazing! Certainly some of those itineraries were repeats. Do you find that it gets old to go to the same places several times? I can't see me getting to platinum for that reason alone. I really like to go to new places for each of my trips. 

 

The others are correct. I did spend quite a bit of money in the casino during my June cruise. I'm quite grateful to Carnival for giving me these free cruises so I don't feel like it went to waste. I definitely will avoid slot machines on future cruises and just stick to the blackjack table. I gotta take advantage of the Elite cruise offer now while I get it, because I don't see me getting it again in future years.

Of course there were repeats but they also included, transatlantics, repositionings, Panama Canal, Baltics, Med, Mexican Riviera, Alaska, Hawaii and West Coast. Airfare is quite expensive!!! Repeats are mostly due to my dad being 97 and not wanting to be too far away!  Instead of a summer cabin we have a cruise cabin!  It never gets old because no 2 cruises are ever alike!

If you have 40+ cruises on Carnival, you should understand the difference between casino offers and offers from Carnival. I only have 31 cruises on Carnival, but I fully understand the significant difference between casino offers and VIFP offers.

I totally understand my beef is with them claiming they can't offer anything to loyal cruisers except a Lanyard when they are spending big bucks on other offers!  This isn't directed at gamblers!

The casino pays the cruise line for these cruises.  I have always gotten full credit on free cruises given by the casino

We did an Elite cruise last year and really enjoyed it. I recently got an email that was a heads-up for upcoming Elite cruises and I'm looking forward to booking another one.   In addition to the perks you listed, we also got steak house dinner with others in the Elite group along with some of the casino hosts.

Congrats ! Great deal. I have an Ultra cruise in November that I am looking forward to on the Horizon, hope to get Elite offers after that. Going on a bounce bank offer next week to Bermuda on the Sunrise that I got from my premier last year. I have been very happy with the casino offers I have received the  last couple of years. Hope you have a great cruise.

 

And btw- I have received VIFP days for all the cruises I have taken, even if I didn't upgrade. The only cruise I have never received credit for was for a 7 night on the glory a couple of years ago- I was at a charity event and bid on it. funny thing is I paid more for the bid then I would have if I used a casino rate. lol

You have the right idea except no need to feel grateful to Carnival. You earned this offer with your slot machine play, winning or losing is not as important as coin cycled through. They make a ton more money on slot players than table players with almost no overhead so that is where the offers go. It is strictly a good business decision for them and you are right to presume that if you stick with the blackjack table you probably will never see another offer as good as this one. You took a chance with your slot play and now they are taking a chance on you, hoping this great offer will bring more casino profit for them.

 

You still might get some offers that are valuable to you but more important this one is fantastic and you are smart to jump on it and cash out, could bring you almost even with those evil one armed bandits! 😜. Enjoy a wonderful bonus first class cruise with your sister, sounds wonderful to me!
