Admiral's Club

C 2 C

Recommended Posts

A few other posters have mentioned that there should be a higher level than ELITE in the Captain's club. I am proposing a new designation: the Admiral's Club This level can be achieved by having sailed on all ships in X's fleet (excluding Expeditions because it can't be reached without flying)

I am proposing this because this coming weekend I will be promoting myself to Admiral. We have sailed on Horizon, Zenith, Century, Galaxy, Constellation, Infinity, Millennium, and Summit. Mercury will be the last of the fleet.

Is there anyone out there that has already reached this milestone?

I want to thank all those people who have trained me so well for my new position. You have forced me to sample 1,000's of meals, watched 100's of shows, inspected dozens of cabins and lounges, tried to trip me up by smiling every day to see if I was having a bad day.....

Thankyou Celebrity employees for seeing me through this training:D Now spoil me some more...

I am ready for the Challenge® whatever it is called.

Now that I'm an admiral I will have to find new perks to enjoy. Any suggestions?

Arno......I'm impressed! What's really impressive is that you are doing a B2B2B starting next week. By the time we get aboard, you will already know everything there is to do in all of our ports. Not only will you be the Admiral, you will also the shorex Director!! So, maybe two new titles!!

Extra perks...........your own reserved lounger at the pool, an automatic second helping of lobster tail, your own departure lounge, just to name a few of the new goodies that you SHOULD be entitled to!

I think that is an excellent idea. We would qualify very soon. Now, what would be the perks?

How about getting a ring?

We were aboard Zenith together in Nov 03...

I would love some extra free internet time... to keep in touch with the fleet

27 cruises down - 25 to go....

1 year at sea......

A Modest Goal

After our Mercury cruises we will have spent 40 weeks on Celebrity, 573 total days at sea. (time spent scouting out the enemy.. uh competition)

Are you forgetting the Meridian - the first Celebrity ship? In order to have sailed on all, you would have to have sailed on that one. She cruised from 1990 to 1997.

Sorry C2C, since you are including the Horizon which is no longer in Celebrity's fleet, you don't make Admiral as you have not listed cruising the Meridian and therefore have not cruised all ships in Celebrity's fleet.

Meridian originally entered service as the Galileo Galilei for Lloyd Triestino on their Italy-Australia service. In 1979 she transferred to Italia Crociere after conversion to a full-time cruise ship. In 1983 she was sold to Chandris, re-entering service on Caribbean cruising as Galileo in 1984. After further rebuilding, Galileo was renamed Meridian as the first member of Chandris Lines new upmarket Celebrity Cruises in 1988. In 1997 she was sold to Sun Cruises (Singapore) and renamed Sun Vista. Sun Vista sank off the Malaysian coast following an engine room fire on 21st May 1999. No fatalities were reported. A complete history of this ship is available on this link.

I refuse to sail on any ship that has sunk.

I think, since I'm making up the rules as we go along... membership is for those who can sail on all active ships or at least those that were newly built for Celebrity passengers... No second hand ships..

Last March we had a couple at our table on Millennium that were on their 43rd Celebrity cruise!!! And they booked the 44th (a transatlantic) while on board for 35 days later. Sailing on each ship's a notable achievement but 43 CELEBRITY cruises blew me away.

BTW I am a card carrying member of the Admirals Club! But that is only because I fly American Airlines and it's the name for their private airport lounges. Wouldn't help me find the bridge.

We will be there this year.. the way Celebrity counts it anyways. 40 weeks after Mercury + crossing on Galaxy + Eastern Mediterranean + Millenium in Nov. Once you get obsessed life on land is so mundane..;)

For those of you with so many cruises behind you, you might be interested in this. Our tablemates on Millenium told me about the Travelers Century club.

http://www.travelerscenturyclub.org

it's just for fun, but membership is for people who have been to 100 countries. Unfortunately, they do not call every Caribbean island a country, so you may not have as many countires as you think, by their counting.

Check it out. It might prompt the weary world traveler into going somewhere new!

That is sooooo.... Cool.

Go get them for 2 plus.... :)

On the Century club.... If you counted the places I have been multiple times... Maybe 100.

But if you count them just one time... 23.

Does Texas count as a country?

Do we get points for visiting blue vs red states? or is that a no-no question? The criteria said something about unconnected countries?

C 2 C - I think you definitely qualify as an Admiral (at least a Canadian one). I can only hope to visit all of the still-afloat Celebrity ships in my lifetime (sailing on Infinity 3 times in a row won't help me qualify).

Phyllis - I spent a good long time looking at the Traveller's Century Club list last week, amazed that I don't have more points than I do. I have 34 right now, and will have 44 by this time next year, thanks to two very good Celebrity itineraries. However, unless I do some fancy stepping in Asia or Africa, I'm afraid I'm never going to be a member.

Way to go! I want to be like you when I grow up. Whether you count weeks or actual cruises, it makes little difference. That's an impressive accumulation of shipboard time.

Oh, to be released from this land locked existance.

I had 47 on the Century Club, which was more than I thought I'd get, but i'm still more impressed by spending more that a year and a half on cruise ships......having fun!!

And yet they are calling Hawaii and Alaska separate countries in their count. How peculiar!

Looks like only 36 -- a long way to go.

WOW!!! I have an even better idea. X should start a MILLENIUM CLUB for devotees of X with more than 15 X cruises. They could charge $50 to join...just like the old Captain's Club did...that way only the serious devotees would apply for membership. Then X could offer some real benefits...like a complimentary dinner for 2 in the specialty restaurant. Maybe offer a credit for drinks before dinner along with some other stuff. Maybe have a Concierge Room for members only. In other words...offer some real benefits like RCI does instead of the silly things they offer now.

Agree totally. how can you have a "get off the boat early ticket" if half the pax have one

My favorites: Princess offers: free internet to keep in touch (when you sail for 28 days at a time..)

free laundry/dry cleaning for us B2B types

Let's see..... Just how about a Celebrity Hot List club.

I do like the 15 plus cruises or something like 20 weeks at sea with Celebrity.

Where you get +5 on the trivia contest results to help you win.

Dinner in the specialty resturant with crew - officer - guest choice.

Private lunch with the officers / Cruise Director / Celebrity Dancers -I had to put that one in / Cruise staff / Cruise Hostess.

One hour free internet service for each week the current cruise is on for.

Free laundry is very nice...also had that on Princess. The Concierge Lounge is fantstic...also had that on RCI. Neptune Lounge on HAL is great...so are the complimentary dinners in the specialty restaurant...and the Captain's Luncheon.

The point is that Celebrity offers very little to nothing to reward their loyal customers. It was much better in days when you had to pay to join the Captain's Club...there were much fewer pax at the CC party and X took a serious interest in your loyalty to them. Now it is just one big free for all with no discernable benefits.

While on Summit Nov 6 sailing the top 6-8 couples onboard were treated this way. Two full tables anyways. It was a wonderful treat. It did not happen on the B2B Nov 20th sailing. Perhaps the fact that the Nov 6th sailing was a Captain's club reunion cruise was the determining factor. I strongly encourage all to sail on reunion cruises. It was a memorable event.

Hi Arno. I remember being on the Zenith with you in '03. That was our first time on Zenith and it was love at first sight. We are doing a quick get-away with some friends on the 25th of this month. Maybe our paths will cross again when we are in the Admiral's club.

HI LONGBOY,

Just look at the Elite benefits. The only good thing on there is the ability to become a Diamons member on RCI...LOL!!! You would be better off just buying a suite instead of waiting for a bunch of nothing. X better come up with something real or I am going to complete my credits in order to get on RCI...lol.

I called RCI a while ago and asked them how many more cruises I would need to become a Diamond member. The answer was so complicated that I just think it would be easier to buy a suite...LOL.
