fiftyguy Posted September 19, 2019 #1 Share Posted September 19, 2019 Hi We’re on the Gem this weekend for NE/Canada. Our cabin is on the starboard side. We’d like to be on the best side for views during sail in. What’s the best side, port or starboard, for Bar Harbor, Halifax, Sydney, PEI, La Baie and Quebec City? Thank you for any tips. triptastic3 Posted September 19, 2019 #2 Share Posted September 19, 2019 Halifax NS and Charlottetown PEI port side would be better for the entry into port. Not sure about the final berthing position it will depend on whether you just slip in or do a 180 then dock. Quebec starboard side Sydney not much difference Bar Harbor been far too long since I was there to remember
bonvoyagie Posted September 19, 2019 #3 Share Posted September 19, 2019 Bar Harbor is a tender port so in the AM they pull in so port side is toward the harbor. LaBiae on the way in there is a huge statue of Jesus on the port side and the port side of the pier will give you front row seats to the welcome show. zqvol Posted September 20, 2019 #5 Share Posted September 20, 2019 You can always go topside and get a view from both sides.
