skings Posted September 27, 2019 #1 Share Posted September 27, 2019 Hi cruising on MSC Meraviglia April 2020. This is TA and I booked solo cabin Miami to Kiel. Called MSC today and asked if I could leave ship in LeHavre. Answer I received was they would put a request in. What does that mean? When will I know if I can book hotels and airfare for different dates in Paris? I dont care if they reimburse port fees if that is the case. Rare Essiesmom Posted September 28, 2019 #2 Share Posted September 28, 2019 They are boarding people in LeHavre on that cruise, so debarking there should not be a problem. EM
skings Posted September 28, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted September 28, 2019 Hi Em, yes I know but MSC hasn't changed my booking. Can I just walk off with luggage?
Rare Essiesmom Posted September 28, 2019 #4 Share Posted September 28, 2019 You would need to have their permission. The person you spoke with probably had never been faced with that request before and needed to consult someone...EM
glittergal1 Posted September 28, 2019 #5 Share Posted September 28, 2019 I would imagine you need permission to totally disembark at another port different to your actual booking , as it will need to be logged on the ships manifest that you are disembarking . otherwise if you get off without the permissions it will just look like you have not returned from a port visit and the ship could end up waiting a short while for you to return you would be Missing having missed the ship and this could cause all sorts of problems . They put the request in that you will leave in Le Havre. As both are Schengen ports, no problem at all. And Le Havre is official disembarking port on this cruise. Many people will In the case the cruise date on your cruise card will not be correct, just go to the reception and let it change. You also could tell them only the day before that you will end the cruise tomorrow, but better handle things early.

tactic Posted October 1, 2019 #9 Share Posted October 1, 2019 Hi - let MSC know via email before you go of your plans and let the reception staff know, complete a break voyage form - no port fees etc refunded, and you will be told when and where to meet staff on day. We have done it many times, either immigration purser will travel with you on tender if a tender port or front desk staff will escort to gangway. No problem for us, we have had help with luggage etc. Can’t be faulted. Never done it in Le Havre but don’t worry they will take care of you.
