QueSeraSera Posted October 10, 2019 #1 Share Posted October 10, 2019 Tomorrow afternoon I'll either put a deposit down on Cruise #4009 Dublin to Amsterdam on the Whisper, or not, for cruise 3. Love the itinerary (spelling again?). Thoughts anyone?
Observer Posted October 10, 2019 #2 Share Posted October 10, 2019 Great itinerary with some ports well off the beaten track and beginning and ending at wonderful cities. Whisper is a great ship with a really classic feeling not so characteristic of newer and larger ships. Enjoy! 1
Rare jpalbny Posted October 10, 2019 #3 Share Posted October 10, 2019 Looks like fun - we have been to Bergen (years ago), Kirkwall, and Leith (Edinburgh) and we've enjoyed all of them. We rented cars and drove out on our own in the latter two ports. In Bergen there is a funicular up to the mountain top above the town where you can get nice views, and do some hiking if you're so inclined. Amsterdam is a nice place to end a cruise - are you going to stay on for a day or two afterwards?
QueSeraSera Posted October 10, 2019 Author #4 Share Posted October 10, 2019 Thank you Observer and JP. We would like to stay over in the Netherlands, but we are also looking at the possibility of a land tour of Ireland pre-cruise, so for us, one or the other locations would be one night. nowornever Posted October 10, 2019 #5 Share Posted October 10, 2019 Greetings QSS & Mrs.QSS. That's a wonderful itinerary & you will love the 2 Norway ports - actually you will love all of it! Many of the passengers on our similar Wind cruise in May did the Flam Railway & we were so lucky with the weather. Be sure you book an excursion to the Giant's Causeway in Belfast. In Leith, if you moor where the Wind did, you will be next to the former Royal Yacht Britannia. The ship ran a shuttle to a very central part of Edinburgh if you choose to just walk around & not do an excursion (but you probably will.) The best to both of you.
