Boatsafloat2 Posted October 10, 2019 #1 Share Posted October 10, 2019 DW and I will be stoping in St. Lucia for a day on our Dec cruise. We want to look at a few resorts for a future land vacation. DW has some mobility issues so we would avoid any resorts that have a lot of steps down to the beach. But if a shuddle service is provided, that would be OK. We would be looking for mid priced resorts, not high end. Any recommendations?
Dragon2109 Posted October 10, 2019 #2 Share Posted October 10, 2019 Bay Gardens Beach Resort is ideal. Their beachfront rooms are lovely, Harbor Club is also a good choice though there isn't a beach. they do provide shuttles to the Pigeon Island Landmark which has two beaches. Also Villa Beach Cottage though it is self catering. All of these are to the north of the Island which is a 1.5 hour ride from the international airport you would have to fly into. They are between 10 -30 minutes away from the cruise port. Hope this helps

Are you wanting AI resorts, adult only resorts, more hotel resort with meals and drinks extra, do you want beachfront or is nearby beach or beach view OK, scenic south or more developed north with more restaurants and bars around - and define "mid-range" in budget terms, ie $50 a night $100 or $309 or what? Help us help you! Some that come to mind: Ai: Royalton, St James (shuttle around the property and such, but hilly), Coconut Bay, East Winds (more upper end but usually well priced) Ao: Sandals Grande or Halcyon, skip La Toc, Rendezvous (too choice!) .More regular hotels near tons of restaurants and bars: Coco Palm, excellent, includes full hot breakfast, short 5 minutes to beach, great pool. Bay Gardens Beach Resort, although no elevators to the different floors, so be prepared. Mystique. Again no elevators, but shorter room blocks, great pool. Harbor Club by Hilton. Fairly generic, but solid Hilton, gorgeous pools, no beach but shuttle daily to Pigeon island..Villa Beach is very good, but not anything around really to walk to for eats or drinks etc. There's tons more choices to look at but without answers to above/.ore info, tough to say. Boatsafloat2 Posted October 12, 2019 Author #4 Share Posted October 12, 2019 Thank you both for the info provided. Ideally we would like a resort that is ocean front and has an easy walk to and from their beach. Would prefer no AI as we enjoy going to different restaurants and rarely have more than one or two drinks a day. Price wise we would like to stay under $250 a day for a six day stay. We may also stay three days in two resorts. On our cruise day in Dec we will probably rent a car for the day so we can see some sights as well. Thanks again. You'll definitely want to base in Rodney Bay then - flat area, great typical beach with chairs and umbrellas, restaurants and bars, water sports, etc. Bay Gardens Beach Resort Coco Palm Mystique Are your best bets for quality reasonably priced spots. Easy to check out all three in one day. There's loads of restaurants and bars, stores, casino, etc in the area, easy walkability. And when staying there, very easy to arrange s day trip to Soufriere for the Pitons and volcano, or rent a car and DIY
