How long will it be before you are reminded that egg mix is "real eggs"? Ahh. You mean like bilge water is real water? Hank

We like ours extra done and crispy, so they throw ours back into the fryer for a couple minutes extra cooking time. The slices come out wonderfully crisp. Yum-m-m. Ask for whatever you want. MISTER 67 Posted October 19, 2019 #54 Share Posted October 19, 2019 Our last 2 cruises on the Oosterdam there was an area right next to the pre-made sandwiches were you could have a crew member make you a sandwich just the way you want it. IMHO, the premades are a joke.

I would certainly hope that the Pinnacle would at least use a real egg (you know, the kind that comes in a shell) but you are not going to get that in the MDR unless you order something like sunny side up, over easy, etc. It is not just on HAL. All the mass market lines rely on the less expensive easy to store/ship boxed commercial eggs. The shelf life of commercial eggs is measured in years (thanks to chemical additives). I think they taste OK, but the texture is different. But not an option on our next cruise or our next 6 cruises since we have not booked any with X. Too many other better options in the market these days. But the truth is that it is not because of eggs that we choose our cruise and ship :). Hank When you order eggs sunny side up or over easy or medium, you get real fresh eggs. Have them 3 times a week when on a cruise. TAD2005 Posted October 20, 2019 #57 Share Posted October 20, 2019 DW likes her omelet with fresh, whole eggs. At the omelet station, she asks the attendant for fresh eggs, and the guy reaches over to a bowl of eggs and cracks them into the skillet right in front of you. Never an issue, they are happy to please. All you have to do is ask. You can't complain if you do not speak up !

Unless you take the initiative and ask for fresh eggs, they will accommodate. 😉
