TYMAN Posted October 17, 2019 #3 Share Posted October 17, 2019 We normally just take a short taxi ride over the hill to Emerald Beach Resort. You can rent chairs, lots of shade, and a restaurant & bar right on the beach. It's a pretty quiet laid back kind of day and it's not too far from the port......

And especially great when docked in Crown Bay which is now a primary spot for RC

Do you have a day pass reserved before taking the taxi?
TYMAN Posted October 17, 2019 #6 Share Posted October 17, 2019 No day pass necessary.....just take a taxi, walk through the middle entrance straight to the beach. There's a "chair" guy there that will set you up. It's like $10 a chair. Lot's of space up and down the beach. The bar area is to the left once you get on the beach. It used to be a Best Western.....just tell the taxi, Emerald Beach. There's always taxi's waiting to take you back to the ship.....

blue_water Posted October 25, 2019 #8 Share Posted October 25, 2019 Most folks visiting STT for the day just taxi to one of the beautiful East End beaches (Coki, Smith’s Bay, Sapphire or Secret Harbor), $10 -$11/pp each way, or Magens, you can find descriptions of each beach in recent threads here. These are the nicest beaches and the first 3 offer snorkeling. If docked at Crown Bay, Lindbergh Bay (aka Emerald Beach) is close to Crown Bay so convenient and a nice enough beach with amenities. The small ferry to Honeymoon Beach on Water Island is also popular from Crown, but gets very crowded when a ship is at Crown...

No resorts currently offering day passes that I am aware of. Some of the nicest STT beaches are home to condos and offer food and drinks and loungers, Sapphire would be our choice...
samom Posted October 25, 2019 Author #10 Share Posted October 25, 2019 Thank you so much for everyone who responded. Will take your advice and head to one of the beaches you mentioned.
blue_water Posted October 26, 2019 #11 Share Posted October 26, 2019 Iggie’s Oasis, a beach restaurant/bar at the Bolongo Bay Resort that was damaged by the hurricane, is now temporarily located in the two-tiered “Lobster Grille” poolside, and visitors eating there are allowed to use the pool and swim-up bar and the beach. Not intended for cruise ship passengers but still an option...But if docked at Crown and going to the east end I’d go to Sapphire Beach because it’s nicer...just our opinion... Enjoy whatever beach you choose!
