Port Times on Web page

How does one find out the arrival and departure times of the ship when looking at the Viking Oceans web page for a specific cruise? They list only the day and not the times? How long we are in port is of importance to me but I can't find it anywhere for cruises in 2020. Thanks.

Viking doesn't provide that information on the website, so the couple of options I used were:

  • Call them and make a provisional booking, as the provisional booking confirmation includes the itinerary with ETA/ETD's
  • Check each port's cruise ship schedule. Note - you can also use a 3rd party cruise site.

Good info Andy.  And, of course, subject to change when you are onboard...🍺

Morning Jim - Noted on AIS you are making 20+ kts heading down river this morning.

Haha, I think we all want to get back in the nice, clean Atlantic Ocean.  I am really impressed with the engineers onboard and how they handled all the restrictions, water usage, sewage, etc.  East bound and down, and at 20+ knots.....  Time for a beer (and lunch).🍺

You get a complete daily itinerary (always subject to change) with port times and whether the ship is in port or using tenders when you have a contract for a cruise, even if you are booking two years in advance. That indicates that somewhere in the system, they have the times.

It is very common for the first excursions getting off the ship to be at 8 AM (pending delays for clearance), and departures are most often 5 or 6 PM, unless the ship is staying overnight. On our Mediterranean Odyssey cruise, there was a very late departure from Monte Carlo, so that guests could do evening activities on their own, such as visiting the casinos. That was quite unusual. If the ship is using tenders, you may not be able to exit on the earliest departures to do something on your own, as the seats may be reserved for paid optional excursions.
