Sounds really interesting. It's someplace I'd like to visit because I love seeing historical sites.

We've been there on a land tour and really enjoyed it.  The center of town has a magnificent cathedral and as the town is higher than the surrounding area there are beautiful views over the countryside below.  From Google:  "Orvieto is a small city perched on a rock cliff in Umbria, Italy. Duomo di Orvieto, dating from 1290, has a mosaic facade and houses a marble Pietà sculpture."
