Clutterlady Posted February 1, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 1, 2006 Just saw an ad for American Cruise Lines, 8 day/7 night cruise. Harbor hopping in New England. 100 guests, Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket, New Bedford, Providence, Newport, Block Isle, New London. Never heard of them? Anyone ever done this? What type of boat do they use? Would like your input....seems interesting? Thank you for any info! Louise

DanJ Posted February 2, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 2, 2006 Not my cup of tea, but check the website out at http://www.americancruiselines.com/ Kind of pricey. Ouch LOL.
Rare Coral Posted February 2, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 2, 2006 I requested a brochure a few months ago and it looks lovely to me. Someone called from the line to make sure I received the brochure and ask if I had any questions. I like the idea of visiting the smaller ports verses Boston and NYC. chrysalis Posted February 2, 2006 #5 Share Posted February 2, 2006 very similar to the cruises that do the Great Lakes during the summer months. http://www.greatlakescruising.com/ships.php

urc12 Posted February 2, 2006 #8 Share Posted February 2, 2006 Hi Louise: I watched these ships being built at a shipyard in Salisbury, Maryland. They are very small and rather generic looking. I did go through one of their brouchers because I thought that it might be cool to cruise on a ship that I saw on a daily basis being built. I wasn't too impressed. Little or no shipboard activities or entertainment. I'd be interested to hear from someone who actually sailed on this line. See you on the Star!
