Has anyone done the "Prohibition Party" before?  I've tried searching for information online and haven't found much.  Is it worth it, and is it available only on certain ships?

Thanks!

We did this a few years back on the Allure. At the time, it was the only ship that did it because they had the play Chicago.  We (and a number of other folks) got dressed for this. There were  a number of attendees that didn't.  Basically, they have it set like a 1920's speakeasy. Jazz band, drinks in coffee cups, flappers and such.  They only served a few types of drinks so we really didn't take advantage of that part, but we definitely enjoyed the party and music.

We did it also on the Allure a few years back.  Like birdlady when they did Chicago- we had fun it was a blast.  However, we tried it again and it was horrible- most people walked out- the jazz band was lack luster and we as did most of the guests walk out by the middle of the show.

I wouldn't recommend it.

We attended one on the Oasis in April 2018, it was held in Jazz on 4.  Genre was a 1920's speakeasy with a secret password needed to get in.  The hosts put on a fun show, many dressed for the era, music and chance for dancing.  The drinks were to sweet for my taste, they had some food available but we didn't try any.  All in all it was a lot of fun and something different to do.

I did it a few years ago. It was fun. You meet at a certain place at a certain time, say the password and they sneak you into the place. There were drinks and food included. There were a lot of people that brought old-timey clothes with them to attend. I did not think that far ahead. Like Hillbilly said, it's something different to do. 🙂

My friends and I did this on the Oasis in 2017.  Like the above poster, the drinks were too sweet for me.  The entertainment was a little hokey and the energy level was low.  We had fun dressing the part and posing for our own photos.  However, for $35 and the 10:00 p.m. time slot...not worth it to me.
