crazyboutdisney Posted November 18, 2019 #1 Share Posted November 18, 2019 So how does the $50 credit work? We are booked on the Epic and have this as part of our package. Am I understanding correctly that you get the $50 per cabin as a credit while on the ship? Want to make sure before we start booking excursions. *Luv2Cruz* Posted November 18, 2019 #2 Share Posted November 18, 2019 You get the credit per port after you take the excursion.[emoji6] Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
peg013 Posted November 18, 2019 #3 Share Posted November 18, 2019 Call to make your shore excursion reservations so you do not have to pay until you are on the ship. Shore Excursions: 866-625-1167. This only works when you have the Shore Excursion OBC.
crazyboutdisney Posted November 18, 2019 Author #4 Share Posted November 18, 2019 If we dont prepay our gratuities would the credit come off of that? If we just book them online and pay in full?
chrpai Posted November 18, 2019 #5 Share Posted November 18, 2019 Is there a gotcha? We have 2 adults and 2 kids in our cabin. If one or two people did an excursion would you still get the credit?
Rare Turtles06 Posted November 18, 2019 #6 Share Posted November 18, 2019 These questions have been asked and answered so many times, that a while back I posted a "how to" thread with tips and instructions about using the shorex promo, to which others have helpfully added. It's here (not to mention that there's a search engine in Cruise Critic as well):

crazyboutdisney Posted November 18, 2019 Author #8 Share Posted November 18, 2019 I did try using the search and nothing came up to answer what I was looking for.
chrpai Posted November 18, 2019 #9 Share Posted November 18, 2019 But if people didn't ask questions how would you ever have 10,000+ posts? Seriously... I read the terms and conditions but it always seems like there is a weaselly way to look at it. I just wanted to make sure I understood how it's really done in the real world. crazyboutdisney Posted November 18, 2019 Author #10 Share Posted November 18, 2019 I was also unaware it was called Shorex promotion. We have never booked free at sea so this is new to us.
havanadaydreaming Posted November 18, 2019 #11 Share Posted November 18, 2019 1 $50 credit per cabin, not per person, per port on excursions booked via ncl. Use it or lose it. No rollovers/transfers.

No gotcha As long as at least one person completes an NCL Excursion the credit is applied to your stateroom account

So,,, start with the cruise line and read the terms and conditions of the promotion BEFORE you pay money for it. Many of the answers on CC are incorrect. https://www.ncl.com/termsandconditions/promotions?cid=PS_TSI_GENERIC_GEN_GOO-g_LEN_SRH___dsa-112401137825&kwid=9017466&anchor=NA&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIsJuX3f_05QIVjYCfCh3Z1Ak3EAAYASAAEgLC0PD_BwE
cruisin from vegas Posted November 19, 2019 #14 Share Posted November 19, 2019 I have done this recently, so I will give you my experience. I booked all excursions on the phone with the NCL excursion office. If you book online you have to “prepay” if on the phone you do not. When you get to the ship they charge you the full price for all booked on the first night. As you take each excursion, they credit back to you the $50, usually a few hours after was my experience. It’s $50 per cabin, per port (I traveled solo) at least one person must take the excursion. You can ask any questions you like... hope this helps

cruisin from vegas Posted November 19, 2019 #16 Share Posted November 19, 2019 Yes you can. You can cancel/change up to 24 hours before the excursion
liverpoollad Posted November 19, 2019 #17 Share Posted November 19, 2019 Beware your on board credit of $50 against each excursion can not be used for gratuities.
