Agua Clara Locks and Kayaking Excursion on Princess

We're sailing on the Island Princess on Dec 6 on a partial transit canal cruise.  We are looking at the Agua Clara Locks and Kayaking Excursion for our time in Panama.  Has anyone taken this excursion?  My understanding is that we will miss the ships transit of the canal if we take this one.  Our ship is scheduled to dock in Cristobal after the partial transit.  If we decide not to take the excursion, anyone have any suggestions for things to do there?  Thanks in advance for the information.

You will not miss the transit of the Gatun Locks.  You will lock up Through them into Gatun Lake.  What you will miss is the return through the same locks and docking in Cristobal.  To access your excursion you will be tendered ashore while the ship is in Gatun Lake.  At the end of your excursion, you will be bused to the dock in Cristobal to rejoin the ship.  EM
