cruisecookie Posted November 25, 2019 #1 Share Posted November 25, 2019 Is it true that RCCL is not continuing the MLife casino partnership in 2020? I was looking forward to our $200 on-board credit on our January 2020 cruise. My travel agent says RCCL is no longer offering it.

Can you clarify the onboard credit, I have an MLife number, but not sure this is the same thing. Thanks 🙂

cruisecookie Posted November 25, 2019 Author #4 Share Posted November 25, 2019 I spoke to the folks at Club Royale (the RCCL casino) and I was told that as of October 2018 you cannot get MLife benefits if your reservation was booked with a travel agent. Interesting, first I've heard of that restriction.
ckrobyn Posted November 26, 2019 #6 Share Posted November 26, 2019 I just had my $200 benefit on the Indy last week and I booked directly with RCI....
zebra36 Posted November 26, 2019 #7 Share Posted November 26, 2019 I hope someone can follow this circular reasoning. I got Platinum status with MLife due to my sailing experience with Royal Caribbean. My actual gaming experience with Mlife woild never get me to the Platinum level with them. Though I have never bothered to check with Club Royale I am assuming that just because I do have Platinum status with MLife through this arrangement I would not qualify for the OBC and certainly not the free cruise based on my overall gaming experience. Is this assumption correct?

Is this assumption correct? Yes. MLife status earned through RCI sailings, cannot be used for perks on RCI. But MLife status earned other ways, such as Hyatt status, does work on RCI. Is this assumption correct? My husband also achieved Platinum status on MLife through our Diamond + status on RCCL. On recent sailings -- June 2019 on Royal and January 2019 on Celebrity -- he did get the $200 OBC in the casinos. But, as of October 2019 the rules have been revised. MLife benefits cannot be applied to travel agent bookings. Also, MLife benefits on the cruise must be earned by staying in or gambling in MLife casinos/hotels.
