Yes, I read that but started to over think it............. and wondered about the chips and the slots!!

With the slot machines, using your cruise card, you put money from your on-board account onto your gambling account. It is all electronic.

It depends on what you play in the casino. I know one game that takes quarters ($0.25 USD).

I am not an expert on the casinos, but do the Australian-based Princess ships have a game in the casino that takes US coins? (The original question was about Princess ships, presumably in Australia because that is where the question was posted.)

That is the one, although on one ship I have seen them use tokens instead.

I am not sure about all of them but most do. I  would assume the Sun and Sea Princess would accept aussie coins or tokens.

Thanks, we are going on the Ruby and then the Majestic and have USD cash left from another trip so just wondered if we could use them in the casino, but I suppose we can just exchange them for AUD when we get onboard if needbe.

You are likely to be able to but the ship's exchange rate is likely to be poor at best. Perhaps save it for another trip or use it for tips on the ship.
