Show Reservations

We will be sailing on the Epic in July. It appears that we have to make reservations for the show. We have cruised many, many times including cruising on NCL many times..... But we have never had to do this. How does this work?  Are there assigned seats or just assigned times?  Can a group of 14 sit together?  How do I make reservations?  If I don’t make reservations we can’t see the show?

You can make reservations through the NCL app or on the website.  If its 14, you will probably have to have each cabin book their own but its open seating when you get in.  If you do not make reservations, they will have a standby line to fill seats for reservations that did not show.  Although there will be standby available, with 14 people I would make reservations to ensure everyone can get in and sit together.

When you are on the ship, there will be touchscreens.  Swipe your card, and then you can put yourself on the list for a show on any given night. If it's full, you can show up at showtime, and they usually have extra seats.

I've been on 25 cruises and have never been denied entry into the theater.  YMMY when trying to get into smaller venues like comedy shows and dueling pianos.

Well...  Technically you should all arrive together, and should arrive as soon as the doors open for the best chance to get seats, as long as every person has a reservation.  Each room would need to reserve the show for everyone in that room that wants to go, it can't be done for 14 by one person unless that person has a card for each room with them (if booking on the ship).

People aren't kind to those saving seats, especially such a large block, and with signs suggesting that saving seats is not allowed I would avoid trying to do so if at all possible.

If you use the standby line, don't expect to get 14 seats together.

Just saw the 14 people.

Why do you all need to sit together?  Let everyone break into couples or groups and then meet outside at the casino after to recovene.

Guaranteed all 14 of you won't be on the same page.  Save yourself the effort and give everyone the tools to get to the show and make plans to hang out after.  You're not talking to each other during the performance anyway.
