Disembark in Papeete at 9 - flight leaves at midnight - what to do???

Hello wise group,

Looking for ideas for our day of departure - with luggage in tow.  We disembark by about 9am and our flight out leaves at midnight.  Are there resorts that will do a day pass and hold our luggage?  A full day in the airport sounds like a horrendous way to end the vacation. Thanks for any help!

Sofitel and Pearl have been known to do day rooms 😉

Thanks TahitianBigKahuna!  I've got an email out to the Sofitel but what is the Pearl?  Is it the Tahiti Pearl Beach Resort?

Yes, Tahiti Pearl Beach Resort  ... on the northern end of 'greater' Papeete.

The Tahiti Nui Hotel is also know to do day rooms. The Nui would be closet to the airport but still in the heart of Papeete which makes it easy to enjoy the city and the food trucks for dinner before heading to the airport ... it will also be the least expensive 😉

We stayed at this Airbnb and it was awesome. Had same long day that you do to kill some time- this was perfect.

https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/3954269?location=Papeete%2C Tahiti&adults=2&check_in=2020-05-12&check_out=2020-05-13&source_impression_id=p3_1581414166_R70GdwtYF1ZPK0WP

You can't beat the price at $55/nite. With a pool and gorgeous view of Moorea. The owner picks you up right at the pier and for 1000XPF will bring you to the airport before your flight. Very nice people too. We sat by the pool and read, made ourselves a meal and were whisked off to the airport.

Thank you.  It looks perfect but is already booked!  I’ll look for some others.

You had suggested Pa’Ati tours.  Someone asked me about the initial boat ride stating they saw somewhere that it’s long and bumpy.  Is that your experience?

 Thanks!!!

We just did this in October.

Got a room at Fare Suisse for about $90. Took a quick cab ride from the ship to the room. Checked in and stored our bags in our room. (Changed into our swimsuits) The cab was still waiting for us, because we had booked a snorkel tour for that day at 11am.  We went with "Tahiti Lagoon Paradise", Captain Benoit, and had a great time out on the water. Then took a cab back to the room for showers and naps! It's really nice knowing you have a whole hotel room to come back to after another excursion and before taking a flight.

We also did a land tour before our cruise that I would recommend:  "Tahiti Discovery" with Teiva. There are lots of other companies that will also take you on a sightseeing trip for 4 hours or even 8 hours. Then you don't waste a whole day in Tahiti.

Pa'ati's tour to Ile Aux Recifs is lovely but it was very choppy and bumpy and  about an hour each way. The scenery is beautiful and tranquil. I wouldn't want to miss it but I'd not want to repeat it.
