Upgrade request (inside to balcony)

If you didn't get a bid invitation - either an email or in your MyNCL (you would see it under the upgrade options), you can't bid.  As far as I know, the only other option to get an upgrade would be to call NCL directly.  If you booked through a TA, they would have to call for you.

Hi,

Is it possible to request an upgrade (inside to balcony) directly via the NCL website?  If yes, what's the procedure?  We are sailing on Sunday.

Thank you

I have done this for a lot of my family members when the priced of the balcony and mini suites dropped a lot. (There was about 16 different types of cabins booked for this memorial cruise) I was able to get them a balcony from an inside for $50 per person.  For the mini suites it was $100 per person.  It was a lot cheaper calling them directly then doing the bidding.

We booked our Encore cruise January. We decided on an Inside room as the prices were expensive (899$/pp). But we’ve been checking the prices out of curiosity and saw that it had dropped considerably and called NCL, they offered 210$ on-board credit or midship balcony, we didn’t make a décision right away and talked about it a few days ago then checked online prices again and realized it dropped almost 50% ( down to 480$ as of yesterday ) For the same inside room. So we called to see if they could do anything more for us. After speaking with The very nice lady at NCL and asking to speak to her supervisor a few times We ended Up getting an offer of a mini suite or 230$ onboard credit.

The nice lady said she didn’t understand either why the price drop was so big, and that she’d never seen this before and understood our frustrations. When he thanked her for her help and said she’d been very patient with him, We ended up choosing the Mini suite.

So, all this to say, yes you can get an upgrade without paying for an upgrade.
We made some valid points to explain our situation and confusion on why it dropped almost 50%. She was very nice and helpful, and very patient.

We wouldn’t of asked for this kind of upgrade if we didn’t feel like we overpaid on the original amount.

good luck

If you live in the UK we don't get the opportunity to bid on upgrades. I think you will just have to ring them

Not true....we live in Scotland and receive invites to bid on upgrades.
