Mazatlan Cliff Divers

What is the approximate distance from the cruise terminal in Mazatlán to the cliff divers. I'll be walking. Do they dive pretty much from noon to sunset?

You can see the 2km route on Google Maps if you enter “Mazatlan Cruise Terminal” and “El Clavadista”.  We did it with no problem. 
 

The divers are there only when there is a large enough crowd to make it financially viable.  Most cruise visitors are gone by mid-afternoon, so don’t expect to see them after then.

Do they dive for tips or is there an 'entry fee' or drinks minimum (a bar or restaurant there?)

They dive for tips. There isn't a restaurant with a view of the divers - you stand on the malecon to watch.

Be aware they donot dive from as high as in Acapulco.

Agreed - It's probably like comparing Middle School football to the Pro's, but it's something at least. We saw the Mazatlan show in 2010 at it's ok... We saw the Acapulco Cliff Divers from the famous Mirador Hotel in 2006 while on a Carnival Spirit cruise. Had dinner at the hotel so actually got to see the show twice as the sun was setting. Really cool to see them diving with flaming torches and also diving into flaming circles in the water that night.

I was going to say it does not compare to the Acapulco cliff divers and would not make that "a must see" in Mazatlan.

I think of it as a "might as well see" if I am driving by anyway!
