GoPro worth it?

We have the Stingray city excursion in Grand Cayman and debating if a GoPro is worth it.   I don't know how much I would use it other than this one time.  The phone is so easy and always there.

Anyone buy a GoPro to use occasionaly or 1x and find out they use it alot more?

I wanted a similar camera but felt that the price of the Go Pro was a bit high.  Instead I purchased an Intova camera, used it underwater and to make a video of some zip lining.  Felt that it did a great job.

One should be mindful that GoPro operator interfaces are somewhat complex - numerous touchscreen menus, submenus and settings:

So unless you're willing to invest in learning/practicing with a camera that doesn't work like phone cameras or  conventional point/shoot and more sophisticated gear, it might be best to skip the GoPro.

Loved Grand Cayman - water is clear as gin.

Stingray City... suffice to say you will not be alone... the water is roughly waist-deep and typically a half-dozen boatloads of tourists visiting simultaneously.
