FinallyGoingToAlaska Posted February 20, 2020 #1 Share Posted February 20, 2020 Has anyone been to Playmakers on the Oasis of the Seas and been able to watch hockey games? We will be on the ship next week and there is a game I would really love to watch. I was wondering if they had Center Ice since it's a sports bar. Yorkvillain Posted February 20, 2020 #2 Share Posted February 20, 2020 They may have hockey on but they definitely don’t subscribe to Center Ice.
Rare twangster Posted February 20, 2020 #3 Share Posted February 20, 2020 Playmakers equipped ships did license additional sports content and there have been some hockey games on at PM but... they may not have your hockey game. Plan B is streaming to a tablet or laptop. Some phones and tablet apps use GPS to ensure you are in a home territory so sometimes laptops are safer for streaming when out of the country. FinallyGoingToAlaska Posted February 20, 2020 Author #4 Share Posted February 20, 2020 Thanks so much for taking the time to answer. The Pacific is so tight right now that it's going to be hard not to watch the games.. I might just have to pack my laptop.
Rare A&L_Ont Posted February 20, 2020 #5 Share Posted February 20, 2020 I did see the Isles play 2 years ago against Montreal if I remember correctly. Seeing the NHL on the ship was great.
not-enough-cruising Posted February 20, 2020 #6 Share Posted February 20, 2020 Was on Oasis last week and seemed the only thing I ever saw on the TV in Playmakers was NBA and NCAA basketball, but I was not there every night
Lugger11 Posted February 20, 2020 #7 Share Posted February 20, 2020 I was frustrated last week on Mariner that I couldn't watch the Raptors go for 16 in a row. A friend told me that last year he could not watch Raptors PLAYOFF games on their cruise either. The reason is that they primarily subscribe to ESPN. So if it's on ESPN you get it, if not, you're SOL. What they SHOULD do, is subscribe to NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB and FIFA (and/or other major soccer leagues) directly to get better coverage if someone asks for a specific game.
jungle1 Posted February 20, 2020 #8 Share Posted February 20, 2020 Even during the NCAA tournament they had 1 channel that had basketball on, and it would jump around between games. You could catch the first half of a game then they would switch to another game at halftime and never come back. We ended up bringing laptops to Playmakers and watching on that...drew a bit of a crowd all huddled around the little screen.
