Turning Diamond

Please help me settle a dispute.

 

A colleague of mine has 195 VIFP points.

He has an upcoming 5 day cruise and is convinced that he will receive a Diamond card on Day 1.

I do know that you will get an upgraded card if you move up levels during the cruise. But in this case, he would have the 200 days after the cruise is over. Does that still mean he walks on as Diamond?

He will reach 200 days on the last day of the cruise. He will be a Diamond when he boards the ship. Your colleague is correct. 😎

On Carnival? Your colleague is correct.

On Royal, the policy is different and you would be correct.

Not only is your colleague correct, he couldn’t have planned it better. In the perfect world, under Carnival’s current loyalty program, the last day of your cruise should be day 25, day 75 and day 200, as applicable.
