FLL to POM transportation + hotel location

1. What mode of transportation is the best value from FLL to POM (2 adults)? I hate paying for transportation!

2. Would also love your thoughts on where to stay for one night post-cruise before bidding on Priceline (Fort Lauderdale or Miami). We fly out of FLL both ways and were initially planning on staying in Miami but now thinking Fort Lauderdale might be best. Trying to maximize the fun and would prefer to stay on the beach.

If you prefer to stay "on the beach" then you need to look at Miami Beach, not Miami - two different cities.

For FLL area hotels and other info start your search at www.sunny.org.  Dates and budget would help the suggestions to be closer to your target -the $300+ hotel room in February can go for under $100 in August.

Uber or Lyft are popular transportation options - UberX from FLL airport to South Beach, POM or downtown Miami hotels will run about $35+  There are several shared shuttle companies often suggested on this board (SAS, QLS, MJS, Go Airport) that transport passengers between FLL (and nearby hotels) and POM for about $15 per person.

We use SAS for shuttle service.  We fly to FLL, overnight hotel in FLL, SAS to Port of Miami, SAS from POM to FLL airport.  We choose our hotels from the list that SAS serves. They have been very reliable for us, and are currently offering a $10pp deal.

I would do LOTS of homework on better bidding , this board and other sites before trying Priceline - there are some neighborhoods in South FLA (and every other big city in the USA) that you do not want to stay in.

Transportation FLL to port of miami - have a look at Brightline

aka Virgin Trains  We did it last week.  Cheaper than Uber and maybe SAS (I hate bus transportation for cruises).  It's also fun, spotlessly clean, quick and a seamless operation.  It's also cheaper than parking at POM.

Getting to/from FLL airport to the Brightline train will require either an Uber/Lyft or taxi.  The train is a good option if you are driving/parking, or maybe flying in/out of West Palm, but is not convenient for those flying in/out of FLL.
