nancy2vues Posted March 1, 2020 #1 Share Posted March 1, 2020 We have only cruised Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises so far, but we are booked for cruise in Europe this summer. I am wondering if Royal Caribbean tries to change up their European cruise menus to reflect some of the flavors of the countries that their ships visit there. It seems to me that Caribbean cruises do have "some" regional dishes, like Jerk Chicken or rice/beans, but I those might be coincidence. Thanks! taglovestocruise Posted March 1, 2020 #2 Share Posted March 1, 2020 Things are pretty much the same. Windjammer has a few English items for breakfast, but MDR and specialty seems the same.

Nancy Windjammer breakfast will probably include English bacon ( although we’ve seen it many times now available on Caribbean cruises) plus black pudding. Lunch will probably have a traditional pie of the day.. Maybe on different days Steak and kidney Steak and ale Steak and onion Chicken and mushroom Cottage pie Shepherds pie Plus Fish and chips On the odd occasion we have had Roast beef and Yorkshire pudding in the MDR on the evening menu. In my experience the above is true of cruises out of Southampton but not out of Barcelona or Rome.
Norwich Cruiser Posted March 2, 2020 #6 Share Posted March 2, 2020 Perhaps you’ve been unlucky or not but we’ve definitely had many of those items on our cruises from Civitavecchia Venice and Barcelona.

I think it depends on the number of Brits onboard, we've sometimes had British items on Med cruises and the menu on Jewel from Dubai last week had a very British influence with a pie and a curry every night on MDR menu. Rare steamboats Posted March 2, 2020 #9 Share Posted March 2, 2020 No lobster in the Med ... and the shrimp dumplings were chicken dumplings. But basically the menus stay the same. steamboats

I know British and Irish tastes in food are very similar but I still find it funny that curries are considered British on RC ships. Part of the enjoyment for me on holiday is trying different food so sailing on Indy out of Southampton wasn’t as much fun.
