Just off the Spirit (In Dubai) Lost more "washey washey" when boarding and going and coming from dining venues *(and boarding the ship) but nothing much more than that.  No one (with a FEW exceptions) wearing masks....

Flew to and from Fort Lauderdale last week (Flew in Wednesday 2/26, flew out Sunday 3/1), and both flights were full.

We were on the NCL Pearl during that time for our bachelor party cruise, and there weren't any additional protocols that were being conducted other than additional washy washy. We only went to the buffet twice for breakfast, and both times we were able to serve ourselves. No coughing or anything of the sort that we noticed.

We did have our passports thoroughly flipped through at check-in, and had to fill out a questionnaire related to Coronavirus. Other than that -- business as usual.

Just got off of the Gem today. Washy Washy was in the buffet area and when you boarded the ship from an excursion.  Not one person was wearing a mask and they were constantly cleaning and dusting all areas of the ship.  Boarding took a little longer in NYC due to verifying passports.  The agent would take your passport to another person to check it.  I had Lysol wipes and I swiped everything in the room that a hand could touch.  Bought a Lysol spray and carried hand sanitizes in my bag.  You can't live in fear, just be cautious and don't touch handrails and use a tissue to push the elevator buttons.  Also, if going in the casinos wipe those buttons down as well!  I do hope you are able to go on your cruise, I am planning another one!

Oh MaMaJean, Thank you for posting. Our cruise is scheduled for 03/14 and I already have my hand sanitizer, Clorox wipes, etc. packed,  just to be a little safer. Washy Washy can spray me as often as they want to, no problem! We also are already booked for Panama Canal in November and I hope that this virus is well through here by then 😉

Given that one of the symptoms if fever, and seeing it widely used for checking into countries etc.   Amazed that all the ships are taking the temperature as people get on the ship, at the buffet, theater and dining areas.   This is getting serious, time for some more evasive monitoring, simple, maybe not comprehensive or anywhere foolproof, but still something

On the Encore now.  Everything seems normal.  Haven’t seen a single person wearing a mask all week.  Boarding was slow because of additional forms and health screenings.  The ship did get a “deep cleaning” in Miami before departure.  You see the crew wiping down things regularly, but I don’t know if that’s exceptional or normal.  We return tomorrow — Sunday..

Before this latest panic started, I had read a suggestion to also bring along a decent sized ziploc bag to put the tv remote in, probably the most germ infested spot in the room.  It works even inside the bag.

Although you can do all the washy washy you want, and if the person in line ahead of you (or using a handrail before you) didn't, the benefit is reduced.

??????    No one did that on the Spirit.  (Except on the original boarding in Rome) And NO ONE (two days ago)  in Dubai, Moscow or JFK did any sort of check or scan at the airports either. (Which REALLY surprised us)

Got off the Gem on Friday. This is our first time on NCL so I’m not sure what’s normal. Checkin took longer since they had a second person checking passports. We brought wipes to clean our room since we have a toddler who puts everything in her mouth. I think more people were conscious about sanitizing their hands. I only noticed one person coughing throughout the trip.

What about the pools?  your body is a sponge, are people getting in the water?  can you catch the corona virus that way?  if so then are these people aware of that?  how can you protect yourself in the pool or hot tub?  I am very concerned about my cruise.  Are people just acting like they just don't care and that things are normal?  are people acting like they are aware of corona virus?

My daughter returned today from the Breakaway.  All were hand sanitized before boarding the ship.  Lots of cleaning everyday, all the time, lots of crew helping to remind cruisers to wash and sanitize.  A new health form prior to embarkation relating to where you have traveled in the past 30 days.  Other than that, typical cruise, no masks, no panics, lots of fun!

Currently on the Joy, no one wearing masks, ship is spotless, lots of hand sanitizer, everyone using it for a change. Arrive LA tomorrow morning, hoping all goes smooth, understandably embarkation was a nightmare

No. Your body is protected by your skin, which is a marvelous organ...your body's largest organ...and it protects the inside of your body from what's on the outside.

COVID-19 and in general every other virus obtains entry to your body through the mucous membranes of your mouth, nose and eyelids. That's why it's so important to wash your hands often, and to avoid touching your face...the location of the mucous membranes I named .

I read an article the other day concerning the virus and it was talking about avoiding touching your face.  Basically, it talked about how much we touch our face and don't realize it.  I made a point to try and be extra aware of that and by the end of the day I couldn't believe how many times I actually did it.

Yea, I was bored that day.

If you're that worried, do you really think you would enjoy your cruise? Why not cancel?

what time would you recommend getting to the port.  I am gold but have no other sort of priority boarding besides that, just standard cabin, non suite

Oh another thing I noticed is that toddlers (  not poddy trained) were not allowed in the kiddy pool and pools. That is something you don't really think about normally.

There was many in the hot tub at Spice H2o. You could not have paid my to go in there.

What got me was many times the elevators was packed, but people always tried stuffing another four people in. That is when I started to know how a germaphobe feels. One time I got off the elevator before I got to my floor.

You asked!

Self-assist disembarkation a breeze this morning, from our cabin to our Uber, 45 minutes
