We embarked Aurora today. Longer-than-usual health form and our temperatures were checked. Other than that, embarkation pretty much as usual - we had done the online check in, so credit card details already provided and passport photo was copied for the ship. Less than 20 minutes from taxi to ship. It remains to be seen how full the ship is.

We are on board Oceana at present. Left Southampton on Sunday on 14 night cruise to Spain and Portugal. Life on board is just the same as always but we are all aware of the need to be fastidious about using hand sanitizer and washing frequently and thoroughly.
We are trying not to be paranoid over the coronavirus situation but if we had been given the option to cancel without loss we wouldn’t have boarded on Sunday. The fear of quarantine is the biggest issue for us ... if someone on board should start showing symptoms and is then diagnosed with it.
It is a big worry that we most definitely do not wish to be fretting over whilst we are on holiday.

We only wish P&O had issued todays new terms for cancellation four days ago before the Oceana sailed rather than dithering and stalling as we would have cancelled this trip and taken the Future Cruise Credit option.
Having said all this, at the present time everything is just cruising as we have always known it to be and putting coronavirus aside we like this ship and all it has to offer. The staff are happy and friendly and a credit to P&O.    Although we cruise fairly regularly (20 previous cruises) this is our first P&O experience and so far it has been good.

We have been offered the new cancellation terms but our travel agent sent a message as they are inundated with requests unless our sailing is imminent please do not ring. Now we hear Princess has cancelled for 60 days and Viking till month end. Waiting to see what P&O do as we don’t sail till end of May.
