It may depend largely on which side of the ship your very first cabin was. For our very first cruise, many years ago, we booked through a travel agent, and we had an ocean view cabin on the port side. Ever since then, more or less out of habit, we've always had a cabin on the port side. I think most humans are creatures of habit, and tend to automatically book one side or the other without any forethought.

If memory serves Breeze typically docks at Havensight, usually on the starboard side. I think most of us recall that Havensight in St. Thomas is always a matter of going straight in, no turning, Starboard alongside. They rotate the ship on the way out! Never had it different. Has anyone? -and why?

leen50 Posted April 18, 2020 #30 Share Posted April 18, 2020 Just had a deck 8 Starboard balcony on Vista. 3 decks above the smoking area on deck 5. If that bothers you, on that ship you would have needed Port side.

RHilla619 Posted April 18, 2020 #32 Share Posted April 18, 2020 We usually sail out of NYC, and for that reason always book port side for the views of Manhattan during sailaway.
