Table size in main dining room of Harmony

We are a family of 12 and planning a cruise on the Harmony in 2021.  Are there areas where the 12 of us can sit together.

We were on Harmony in January and there were several tables of 12 near with windows.  You need to request a table prior to your cruise.

Thanks, I will definitely have our travel agent do that.  I thought the max might be 10.

They will have to call in to do that. The largest table size that agents can request on line is 10.  Like a previous poster mentioned there are a few tables for 12.  You could also get 2 tables for 6 beside each other and switch seats nightly.  You can’t talk to everyone at a table for 12 anyway.

Last November, we were able to seat our family+friends group of 15 together each evening using long + short tables. The 5 kids sat at one end and the 10 adults rotated seats at the other end. They had our table ready each evening and were escorted to our table each evening rather than waiting in the long reservations line. They went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of.

Maybe two tables, one for 8 and one for 4.  We have 8 adults and 4 grandkids ranging from 13-17.  The kids probably enjoy sitting on their own.

Let whoever you book your cruise through know and they can arrange this. Sounds like a great set up.

That's the way I'd plan it. With a table for 12, you can't be on one end and easily hear conversation at the other

I had a large group seated together several years ago.   They located a long table close to the front of the dining room entrance for us.  It worked out well for our group.  GOING FORWARD, no one will really be able to use 'past experiences' on how they will seat ANYONE in the dining room in the future.

Don't know where you got this info.  We took a group of 12 a couple years ago and our TA arranged everything online while we were in her office.

my NSHO: going forward they may decide to enact  table size limitations.  already restaurants  shore side are going to 4 tops being the largest they will sit.  I realize that logistically, this will be difficult to do since most  MDRs are packed  so tightly that there is little room between tables  anyway.  but I would not be surprised if they removed a few tables altogether, limiting  capacity for traditional dining, and enforcing some sort of staggered access for  whatever your cruise line of choice's version of  eat when you want to is.

Here’s a screen shot from the dining selection tool that the travel agents use.  It’s possible that your TA selected another table size then after you were gone called Royal to get it changed.  That’s what I would have done instead of keeping clients waiting while I’m on hold.

 I could see them doing this with strangers.  No more parties of 2 travelling alone selecting a table size of 8. 
 

not sure that limiting table sizes would do any good if you are travelling as a group of family as you would be in close contact regardless of table size.
