RCL/Celebrity can't be far behind.
xxHadleyxx Posted May 6, 2020 #2 Share Posted May 6, 2020 I don't know. Royal has far more presence in Europe, and a much bigger European passenger base while here than HAL or Princess. Several ships are already on this side of the Atlantic. I'll be surprised if RCI cancels the entire European season. It might happen, but I doubt that it will I expect there may be something like only Schengen residents and sailings only stop in the zone,. Or all Spanish ports, etc. But I'm thinking at least something by midsummer is likely. Maybe it's just wishful thinking in my part though. I've got a late August sailing booked from Copenhagen.
Rare rimmit Posted May 6, 2020 #3 Share Posted May 6, 2020 Ship presence is irrelevant. HAL and Princess would send every ship they could if it meant they could get some revenue coming in. The only thing that matters is if the cruiselines can convince the governments and ports to allow cruise ships. If the cruiselines can convince the CDC and European authorities to let them cruise, you can bet HAL and Princess would do them in a heartbeat. This basically states that they have zero confidence the governments of Europe will let them sail.

zonacruiser25 Posted May 7, 2020 #7 Share Posted May 7, 2020 Surprisingly little real news from Spain and Italy and what those countries are doing or planning. I have looked for information but I must not know where to find updates. In the US we get lots of updates but not necessarily lots of reliable information. RCCL has so many cruises hanging in the balance. I hope they are planning a strategy that will get them through it and let so many of us still waiting to see to make plans. Dealing with FCC and making decisions for my family helps us plan vacations.
