I enjoy seeing how many points people need to get to the next level. 1100 points needed for me to be Zenith. Still waiting for Zen level.
we cruise on other lines so I don’t think I will make Zenith.

I’ll never make Zenith. 53 cruises on 6 different cruise lines !  Celebrity is my fav st the moment but glad I have experienced other cruise lines.  They all have something good to offer. Royal- great for families, Princess - beautiful vibrant Piazzas, HAL -Half Moon Cay… I just love cruising!!!!!
Smooth seas and happy cruising to all!🚢

I suspect there will be fewer opportunities to obtain points if the current high occupancy rates continue.

Absolutely agree.

I received my big bad 1 point for last month. Only 1921 more to go til I hit  Zenith…or death which is much more likely to occur first!

Am "only" 2201 point to the next level.  Took 24 years to get 799.  So . . . .

Hope there are more PUP points and soon so a few people can get the next level before their sailing.

I think the cost of giving out PUP/CC points is cheap for Celebrity as compared to the potential benefits they get with the bookings they generate.  We sailed on Celebrity specifically over HAL when we made Elite Plus  via PUP conversion to CC points vs booking HAL earlier.  Not even sure we used a benefit that was offered to us once onboard that was an Elite Plus specific benefit, but we sailed Celebrity because we were now Elite Plus. 🙂

I believe there will be more. I don’t think it is expensive for them to have some people make the next level a little early and it probably has increased bookings enough to offset any cost.

We do not see us making Zenith as we like sailing on other cruise lines too.  We 2,149 CC points away.  WE have no illusions either, but do like the opportunity to get more.  I like some of the travel logs to places.  It never hurts to learn some new stuff, so if the PUP opportunity sounds interesting, we will do it and my near time goal is to reach 2,000.

We are pretty new to cruising having only started last year for hubbys 50th. At the moment we cruise a few lines because we are in Australia and our cruising options are limited. We have our first celebrity cruise next feb but I like the way we are already classic level before we have even sailed thanks to the PUP points, I hope they keep them coming

If you cruise THAT much it would become boring and mundane to always use Celebrity unless you live on the same ship for a year. Totally the right call to mix and match cruise lines.

Reaching that amount of points as a couple is a giant task. At least as a single cruiser you could earn the points double as fast. 😁

Solo travelers also pay double.

Depends on how you look at it. You generally pay for one cabin, just like a hotel. If the occupancy is one or two pax doesn't matter in most cases. You don't pay double as a single or half as a couple, you pay exactly the same for one cabin.

But the cruise ship cabin includes meals and service. When I go to all inclusive resorts or on group tours as a solo they have not charged me double.  A cruise fare is not the equivalent of a hotel room.

I have never been charged exactly the same as when I booked for two pax. Usually, it's like 75% "extra" and the service would of course be paid extra for the second guest as gratuities are per person not per cabin. Food... well I guess that's an argument to be made.

Either way, this makes comped cruises via the casino much more attractive for single travelers.

They charge double minus the port charges and taxes for one person. It comes out to more than 75%.  Most tour providers and resorts charge a 50% supplement to single travelers. Doing a family reunion at a resort that includes all meals and snacks. Paying a little less than a 50% supplement. Paying about 30% more than couples.

This is not always true. Most cases yes, but there are cruises where the solo supplement does not follow this pattern. The above is what's known in the travel business as 100% solo supplement or full double occupancy rate. There are some cruises that the line discounts the solo supplement to as low as 0% (extremely rare) 25% (very rare), 50% (rare but not a unicorn), and 75% (more common as you get closer to sail date and sailing not sold out)

Back in June, Celebrity ran a zero supplement for select cruises (Solo Promotion Flyer).  Some couples took advantage of this deal to book two adjoining cabins to get an extra bathroom out of it.  It did not cost more than booking a single cabin with double occupancy.
