Westerdam Asia Sailing Feb 1st. 2020

Has anyone out there received a refund from HAL for this sailing which was cancelled?

I automatically received full refunds for the Westerdam 2/29/20 and 3/14/20 sailings a couple of months ago. No action required on my part. Your refund seems very, very late.

Yes, you're right. (My bad.) That's the infamous cruise that began on 2/1/20 in HK, couldn't find a receptive port, and ended up in Cambodia. Maybe refunds or FCCs on that cruise were handled in a different way.

I was on that sailing and received a full refund on 10 February while still on the ship.  I also received a FCC for the full cruise fare and later full reimbursement for my expenses while waiting in Cambodia for a flight home.  HAL also provided us a business class flight from Cambodia home to Seattle.

We were also on that sailing.

 

We booked with a TA. HAL sent them the money quickly, but the TA kept the money until like a week ago. 
 

Meanwhile we had a lawyer write a letter to the TA, but the TA suddenly sent us they whole amount a week ago.

 

This cruise was definetely an adventure! I remember several announcements that  made it more and more adventurous.

 

We felt that HAL took very good care of us. Only the flight back was not very comfortable..

 

Despite all what happened, we enjoyed that sailing and made the best out of it.

 

Sometimes I felt like being in a movie, e. g. when we were called for testing or when the helicopters landed close to the ship
